Macro Solutions Giving Time Policy
The purpose of Macro Solutions’ Giving Time is to support volunteer activities that enhance and serve the communities in which we live and work. The intention of this program is to create community engagement opportunities for Macro Solutions employees that are meaningful, purposeful and helps those in need. At the same time, Macro Solutions recognizes that participating in these activities will also enrich and inspire the lives of our employees. “Community” is not defined as just local community, but may encompass a global perspective.
Employees can volunteer up to eight (8) hours per calendar year with a 501(c)(3) nonprofit or its U.S equivalent in accordance with Macro Solutions’ giving and volunteering guidelines. Generally, to be eligible, the organization must be listed in Guidestar. Employees can choose a charity of their choice or work together with other company members on a team volunteer activity.
All regular full-time employees who have worked at least twelve (12) consecutive months will be eligible. Giving Time can be taken in four hour increments. Giving Time is refreshed at the beginning of each calendar year and cannot be accrued or carried-over into the following year. Usage of this time does not affect PTO accrual or usage. The employee must provide reasonable notice to their supervisor and work demands can take priority over the Giving Time request.
Employees will be paid at their normal pay rate for the volunteer hours taken. Approved Giving Time should be recorded in the time keeping system and the organization name should be listed in the comments section for tracking purposes.
Employees are ineligible to participate in the Giving Time program if: 1). the employee is on a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) 2). the employee’s employment with Macro Solutions terminates for any reason 3). The Giving Time program is discontinued
